Job Description
Director, Strategic Initiatives, Private Equity
As part of the Strategic Initiatives and Investor Relations team within the Private Equity Group, this role presents an opportunity to work with investment professionals, the finance and operations teams, asset management teams, and senior management. The role will play a key role in identifying, developing and executing initiatives that enhance the group's investment portfolio and overall strategic objectives. It will be focused on supporting the development and implementation of fundraising and IR strategies, raising capital and structuring capital solutions for the Private Equity Group's private funds and maintaining strong relationships with private fund investors. The role is expected to be fast-paced and dynamic, within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
The role will be focused on capital raising activities for the private funds managed by the Private Equity Group including:
• Support development and implementation of strategic growth initiatives such as launching new strategies and entering new markets. This includes developing plans and collaborating across the organization to ensure successful execution
• Support development and execution of strategic initiatives and negotiations with key investors
• Assist with key capital initiatives within the private equity group, including fundraising and co-invest capital
• Assist with development of fundraising materials, ensuring articulation of clear firm value proposition
• Monitoring the competitive landscape and create and maintaining competitor intelligence profiles and landscapes
• Working independently and within the team on ongoing projects as well as special and non-recurring requests Requirements:
• An undergraduate university degree in business, accounting, or finance
• At 5-10 years of relevant work experience (investment banking or asset management preferred)
• A CFA, MBA or CPA designation is preferred
• A solid understanding of private equity investment strategies, financial analysis, and valuations
• Dedicated, well-organized and resourceful with a high level of attention to detail; ability to handle confidential and non-routine information
• Self-motivated, proactive and demonstrates initiative; ability to work without a lot of structure
• Ability to understand and distill complex concepts and strong problem solver
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a particular strength in dealing with a wide variety of individuals at various levels within and outside of the organization
• Team player with positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
